The Museum is located at Ndiakeme Uno, Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria.

Our mission is to preserve the past, inspire the future, promote cultural literacy, support research and education, and serve as a centre for heritage preservation and community engagement.

The Museum was founded by Mazi Uche Ohia, Ph.D., historian, lawyer, writer, former Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and Publisher of The Arondizuogu Gong.

The Museum was established to preserve endangered historical records, artefacts, memories, traditions and cultural knowledge for future generations while creating a centre for learning, research, tourism and cultural renewal.

Traditionally, the gong is a symbol of communication, community gathering, public information, memory and identity. The name reflects the Museum's role as a custodian and transmitter of history and heritage.

No. While Arondizuogu heritage forms an important part of our collections, the Museum also explores broader Igbo, Nigerian, African and Diaspora histories and cultures.

The Museum is being developed in phases. Visitors will be informed through our website and social media channels as new facilities become operational.

Visitors will experience historical exhibits, cultural artefacts, archival materials, heritage collections, educational displays, memorial galleries, research resources, cultural events and interactive learning experiences.

Yes. Guided tours will be available for individuals, families, schools, organisations and visitors upon request.

Absolutely. Schools, colleges and educational groups are encouraged to arrange guided educational visits and excursions.

Admission policies and fees, where applicable, will be published on the Museum website.

Photography is generally permitted in designated areas. Restrictions may apply to certain exhibits or collections.

The Museum aims to provide an inclusive and accessible environment for all visitors.

Selected facilities may be available for educational, cultural and community events, subject to approval and scheduling.

Yes. We welcome donations, loans and bequests of artefacts, photographs, documents, books, recordings and other materials relevant to our mission.

The Museum collects historical artefacts, documents, manuscripts, photographs, oral histories, artworks, maps, newspapers, books, audio recordings, video recordings and other heritage materials.

Yes. We welcome digital photographs, scanned documents, audio recordings, videos and other digital heritage resources.

Permanent donations become part of the Museum's collection. However, items may also be accepted on loan under agreed terms and conditions.

Yes. The Museum welcomes memorial donations that honour individuals, families and community leaders.

Accepted materials are catalogued, documented, conserved and stored according to professional preservation standards.

Yes. Families may entrust important records, photographs and memorabilia to the Museum for preservation and future generations.

Yes. Individuals, families, organisations and corporate bodies can support the Museum through one-time donations, recurring contributions, sponsorships and endowments.

You may contribute online, through bank transfers, sponsorships, grants, fundraising campaigns, membership programmes or direct donations.

Donations support construction, collections acquisition, preservation, exhibitions, educational programmes, research projects, staffing and community outreach initiatives.

Tax treatment depends on the laws and regulations applicable in the donor's country or jurisdiction.

Yes. Individuals, families, organisations and institutions may sponsor galleries, exhibitions, educational programmes and physical infrastructure.

Subject to the Museum's naming policy, selected facilities, programmes and collections may be named in recognition of significant support.
